My name is Charleen and I am an addict!
Hello,
I have to confess that I have had this addiction for some time now and very few people know about it because just like every addict I am afraid that no one else will understand. Yes, my husband Nick is aware and no, he has never tried to get me help. Why? If you look at him from the outside you would classify him as more of an enabler than anything else because he ended up getting the same addiction. The ironic thing is that our addiction is good for us. It provides us with some major benefits. Regardless, I’m asking for your help. I need my fix and I plan on getting it one way or another.
My addiction began approximately 3 years ago.
My husband and I were hanging out in downtown San Diego just enjoying the bar scene. After several margaritas we stumbled down Market Street and then it happened. There it was. A sign that read “Happy Head Massage”. At that moment it seemed to us like the funniest thing ever. Why the heck would a massage place call themselves The Happy Head. Regardless, we figured let’s go in and check it out.
Amazement is the only way we could describe it. When we walked in we were taken back by the stunning decor and super friendly staff. They went over the menu with us and that’s where my addiction began. I haven’t had a massage in a very long time so I figured why not give it a shot. After all, their prices for massage seemed ridiculously low, but yet the place looked like a high end spa. After selecting a full body massage in a couples room we were escorted through the community reflexology room where we were greeted by a huge buddha statue and stunning decor that took our breath away. In my mind my brain was screaming “SCORE!” because I felt like I stumbled upon a secret or something. Little did I know that so many people in San Diego were already going to the Happy Head for massage.
I’m not going to go into too much detail of the massage but lets just say I needed a smoke and snuggling time after the massage was done. It was amazing! I felt like I was on cloud nine for the entire week after. I started going on a weekly basis with my hubby. We made it our regular Friday date night.
And then it happened! We had to move to Los Angeles for a couple of months. I figured it was no big deal. I said to myself “I’m sure we could find some similar places in LA.” WRONG!
MISTAKE #1: First we checked out those well known massage places that require a membership. My first experience there was a half hour sales presentation on why I needed to buy a membership. What I needed was a good massage at an affordable price, not a sales presentation. Needless to say I didn’t enjoy the massage. That was strike one!
MISTAKE #2: Then I figured I should check out some of those “hole in the wall” Asian massage parlors figuring that their therapists were similar to the ones at Happy Head. WRONG AGAIN! Yeah the massage was cheap. Dirt cheap! But the therapist’s technique was awful and he fell asleep on me during the massage. No Joke! His head slowly drifted lower and lower till it rested on my back during the massage. I thought I was on candid camera. That was strike 2. Also, I felt like the place seemed pretty dirty. My hunch was right. I ended up getting scabies which is caused by a skin infestation of mites in their dirty towels.
SOLUTION: Finally we ended up coming back to San Diego a few months later. My first stop: The Happy Head. I got my fix and it was so good. Clean, professional, no memberships, and great prices. I was hooked again. Happy Head Massage got me hooked on their services and I love it.
One day I heard that the Happy Head was hiring receptionists and I was on the lookout for a new job. My first question: “Do you give an employee discount?” The answer was “of course” and there you have it. I am now a massage addict at Happy Head getting massages three to five times a week. But I guess if you’re going to be addicted to something, this is a great thing to be addicted to. The Happy Head makes me feel years younger. They completely eliminates my stress. And most importantly, they make me feel happy. For less than 50 bucks I feel like a million bucks.
And that brings me to what I want to share with you. Don’t make the mistakes that I made by trying other places only to be left disappointed. The Happy Head always gives everyone a great massage without the spa prices. And my goal is to help others such as yourself. Massage should be an integral part of everyone’s life. And Happy Head Foot Reflexology and Massage makes it possible for everyone by providing a great massage at very affordable prices. There’s never any memberships. There are no hassles or gimmicks. They are open 7 days a week from 10am till 9pm. They have locations throughout San Diego. Get your fix. It will change your life just like it changed mine. Being happy is easy with the Happy Head. Book online at www.HappyHeadMassage.com or by calling any Happy Head location. Don’t forget to say hi to me when you come in. I love my fellow massage addicts.
Love Ya,
Charleen
